Prompt Mastery

The 5 Components

Click each component to expand its definition.

Pro Tip — Keep Action Short

Veo 3.1 generates 8-second clips. A single, focused action in each clip produces the most coherent and visually consistent result. Save complex sequences for stitched episodes.

Example Prompt

Extreme close-up, slow push-in. A middle-aged man in a worn linen shirt sits at a corner table of a dimly lit Spanish bistro, slowly stirring an espresso. Late evening, warm amber light from a single overhead bulb, murmur of flamenco guitar in the background. Cinematic 35mm film grain, desaturated shadows, rich golden highlights.

How to Make a Series

Plan before you generate. These 5 steps keep your story coherent across episodes.

  1. Choose a Plot

Decide on the story you want to tell. What's the main conflict? What's the resolution?

  2. Clips per Episode

Determine how many 8-second clips you'll need per episode. Consider pacing and story flow.

  3. Plot Progression

Map out how the story develops across each episode — beginning, middle, and end.

  4. Action in Each Clip

Break down what specific action or event happens in each individual 8-second clip.

  5. Make the Storyboard

Create visual representations of key scenes to plan your shots and composition before generating.

Use AI to Plan

You can use Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT to plan out the plot, the progression, and the overall story structure. Just describe your concept and ask for a scene breakdown.

Storyboard Prompt Example

Use this as a starting point in an image generator to visualize your scenes before generating video.

A professional four-panel film storyboard. The scene features a lone traveler in a vast, snowy wilderness during a blizzard. Panel 1 (Establishing Shot): Extreme wide shot of a tiny silhouette struggling against a massive, monochromatic mountain range. Heavy snow flurries and atmospheric depth. Panel 2 (Medium Shot): Waist-up view of the person wearing a heavy, fur-lined parka, hunched over against the wind, boots sinking deep into the snow. Panel 3 (Close-Up): A tight shot on the person's face. Goggles are frosted over, breath is visible as a thick cloud, and ice crystals cling to their eyelashes. Intense expression of perseverance. Panel 4 (POV Shot): Looking through the traveler's perspective; gloved hands holding a flickering compass, pointing toward a faint, blurry light in the distance through the whiteout. Artistic Style: Hand-drawn aesthetic, rough pencil textures, cinematic framing, 16:9 aspect ratio for each panel, clean divider lines between shots.

Character Consistency

Nano Banana — Reference Image Tool

For consistent characters across episodes, upload a reference image using the Nano Banana feature. This maintains visual continuity in appearance, clothing, and style across all generated clips.

The free tier supports character reference images. Generate your character using Gemini or another image generator, then upload that image as your reference before prompting in Flow AI.

Veo 3.1 — Technical Specs

8-Second Clip Limit

Veo 3.1 generates videos up to 8 seconds long. Plan each clip around a single clear action for best results.

Recommended Settings

  • Aspect Ratio — Portrait (9:16)

Use portrait orientation for mobile-first viewing. Aivio is optimized for vertical video.

  • Generations — Set to 1

Generate one clip at a time to preserve your credits and review each clip before continuing.

  • Model — Use the Latest

Always select the most recent Veo model available for the highest quality output.

SceneBuilder & Editing

SceneBuilder

Use SceneBuilder inside Flow AI to stitch multiple 8-second clips into a longer, cohesive episode. Plan your scene order before generating to minimize re-work.

External Editing

Download your clips and stitch them in any external video editor (CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, etc.) for more control over transitions, music, and color grading.
